Returning to my roots

Today I decided to get out of the cave that is my apartment and head downtown to work. While the possibilities of coffee shops are endless, I made my way back to my old stomping grounds...the library of my alma matter, Roosevelt University. It's so weird to be back here, not stressing over the five research papers I waited until the last minute to start, instead stressing over the work I've created for myself and continue to put off until the last minute. Some things never change. :) The good thing about the library is that there is no one here since classes haven't started yet with the exception of the two elderly people that just walked in and are moving at the speed of snails. There's also the view of Grant Park and the lakefront which is truly beautiful, Lake Michigan seems to go on forever. I guess that's about it for now. Time to get back to work. :)

Quebec for Christmas

This holiday season my sisters and I decided to change up the typical chaotic family get together at our parent's house in Michigan and try something new. That something new was a trip to the majestic Quebec City. We stayed at the amazing Chateau Frontenac and as you can see from the pics, the city provided the perfect setting for a white Christmas. I highly recommend checking out Quebec. Its got a European feel and the people are lovely.

Me and my sisters outside of our hotel.

This guy was just asking to be messed with.

What was that Sue? Throw that snowball at you? :)

Pretty church.

Lower Quebec.

A true winter wonderland!

Here goes blogging...

Welcome to my blog!

I've been thinking about blogging for as long as I can remember so I finally decided to peel myself away from watching the umpteenth episode of the Real Housewives and start writing. Not sure what direction my blog will ultimately go, but it's sure to be a place where I can write about all the things I spend a ridiculous amount of time thinking about...things like how annoying The Bachelor is, how living by myself is one of the best things in the world, how relationships can be so confusing, and how hard it is to not eat the bag of chocolate chips that are chilling in my freezer in one sitting!
